Mouth ulcers is a common oral infection disease. While small in size, a canker sore can be painful and make eating and speaking uncomfortable. Mouth ulcers are typically round in shape, gray or white in color, and usually have a red border. Mouth ulcers usually appear inside the cheeks, lips, on the bottom of the mouth, on the gums or tongue. The cause of these sores is unknown but stress, tissue injury, and acidic foods or drinks can irritate sores even more. To some extent, mouth ulcers reflect underlying health problems such as gastrointestinal disease or nutritional deficiencies.

There is more than 10 years of experience with low level laser therapy (LLLT) or biostimulation in dentistry. Laser biostimulation therapy for mouth ulcers is a well-used and proven treatment that is inexpensive and very effective. And the benefits of using 650nm LLLT for mouth sore treatment include:

  • The patient does not need anesthesia, and one treatment only takes about five minutes.

  • Effectively seals nerve endings to reduce discomfort during procedure.

  • Can effectively disinfect mouth ulcers, speed up healing, reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

  • Can also induces healing by stimulating new collagen synthesis.

  • Most patients experience immediate pain relief and a shorter-than-usual recovery period.
