A Case of Laser Treatment of Back Scald

2023-06-05 1176

Abstract

Found on December 7,2012, the canine hind limb weakness, the examination found that the chest waist and cervical vertebra compression with mild myelitis, surgery on December 9,2012, after the hospital to 22, home care, laser therapy, infrared therapy and acupuncture, every back lesions found on December 26, preliminary consideration infrared therapy temperature high and black skin heat lead to burns.

1. Case presentation

NAMEMilk

GENDER: Female

AGE: 4

WEIGHT: 5.1KG

2. Examination

Milk is conscious, in good spirits, and breathing steadily; the visible mucous membrane is pink; the nasal mirror and oral mucosa are moist, and there is no obvious abnormality in the oral cavity; palpation of body surface lymph nodes (mandibular lymph nodes, anterior shoulder lymph nodes, axillary lymph nodes, inguinal lymph nodes, Popliteal lymph nodes) No obvious abnormality was found; there were scabs on both sides of the back, part of the scabs fell off, the wound had suppuration and bleeding, and fungi were found by microscopic examination.

3.Diagnosis

Bed sores, burns.

4.Treatment

4.1 Treatment idea: clean the wound, to the scab off, external lark gold square and laser therapy.

4.2 Lasertherapy: Protocol selection: canine-skin-wound chronic, average power 6.6W, peak power 13.2W, frequency 10Hz, total energy 2257J.

Probe selection: 25mm treatment head for 5 minutes 42 seconds.

Method of irradiation: non-contact irradiation.

4.3 Laser therapy process

The wound occurred on December 26th

On January 4, the wound scab fell off to start lasertherapy. After falling off, the wound was about 100mm²

After the first laser therapy on January 5

After the second laser therapy session on January 6 ( No significant wound exudation and granulation tissue hyperplasia)

On day 9 of January 13, the wound shrank significantly, with no obvious bleeding or inflammatory reaction

On January 18, the wound healing rate was significantly slower due to no laser

5. Summary

It took a total of two weeks from the first laser treatment, daily wound debridement and laser therapy, it can be seen that the wound has improved significantly, because the wound is larger, the healing time is longer, the owner thought the wound was ok, so he took it home to change the dressing, and no wound was seen completely healed, but wound edge healing was evident during treatment.

In this treatment, the effect of laser therapy is obvious. Laser therapy can reduce inflammation, accelerate wound healing, and reduce scar tissue formation. Compared with traditional trauma treatment schemes, it can shorten the treatment time and treat diseases more quickly and effectively.

Discuss

In this treatment, we chose to add laser therapy to the situation of traditional dressing change. Laser therapy has the effect of photobiomodulation, which can increase the activity of fine pigment C oxidase, increase mitochondrial function, increase ATP production, and reduce cyclooxygenase and prostaglandins. The production of E2, thereby accelerating wound healing, capillary formation, collagen and fibroblast increase, reducing tissue necrosis, reducing inflammation, reducing pain, and reducing the duration of the entire disease process.
